Radiation Oncologist in Charlottesville, VA

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Industry: Health, Wellness and Fitness

Salary: $300,000-500,000 a year

Description

* **Job Overview**

We are a small private practice consisting of 4 board certified radiation oncologists providing services at 2 hospital based cancer centers with plans to add a 3rd hospital based site in April 2025. All 3 sites have 2 linear accelerators. Patient volume is similar at the 3 sites with some natural variation. We are interested in hiring a new board certified/eligible radiation oncologist to practice primarily at the new site, Sentara Martha Jefferson in Charlottesville, Virginia. Candidate must relocate near Charlottesville. Currently, we staff one physician at each site during the day, and that physician covers call during the weekdays only at the current site they are working, with call coverage for all 3 hospitals every 5th weekend. If hiring a physician right after completion of training, one of the partners would also be on site at SMJH at least 3-4 days per week with the new physician for the first year or until the physician reaches a comfort level covering the clinic on a solo basis. All 3 sites are accredited with the CoC. Augusta Health is also accredited with the ACR and the Sentara sites are transitioning from ACR to ACRO. All 3 sites provide the opportunity to participate in Alliance cooperative group clinical trials and we provide LINAC-based SRS and SBRT at all 3 centers. The new physician employee’s compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, with the opportunity for full partnership after 2 years. Benefits will include health insurance, dental insurance, malpractice insurance, cyber liability insurance, and CME allowance. Retirement savings opportunity will begin after one year of employment.
