**Your Role**

As **Principal Android Developer**, you’ll lead the design, architecture, and development of our Android app from the ground up. You’ll collaborate with other engineering leaders, designers, and the founding team to build a world-class user experience optimized for performance, scalability, and growth.

**What You’ll Do**

* Architect, build, and maintain the Halen Android app using best practices and modern frameworks (Kotlin preferred)
* Establish coding standards, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines for scalable development
* Integrate with multiple microservices and APIs for rideshare, delivery, booking, and more
* Collaborate closely with our iOS lead, product team, and backend engineers
* Contribute to product ideation and UX design decisions
* Optimize app performance, responsiveness, and security
* Lead by example and mentor future Android developers as the team grows

**What You Bring**

* 7+ years of Android development experience, ideally with consumer-facing apps at scale
* Strong command of Kotlin, Jetpack libraries, and modern Android architecture (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.)
* Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Firebase, and push notifications
* Familiarity with integrating third-party SDKs (e.g., payment, maps, real-time communication)
* Ability to write clean, testable, and efficient code
* Startup mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, fast-paced iterations, and wearing multiple hats
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit

**Bonus Points**

* Experience with Super Apps or on-demand platforms (rideshare, delivery, etc.)
* Familiarity with Flutter or cross-platform development (for future considerations)
* Previous startup or founding team experience
* Background in security, performance optimization, or offline-first apps
